New LastManStands season starts at Olympia Park

It was a sticky wicket after the rain on Saturday evening and Jolly Brothers only managed to score 96 runs for the fall of eight wickets in 15.1 overs.

This weekend saw the last round of cricket games of Sunday 2 before play-offs in the LastMansStands tournament at Olympia Park Stadium.

The Raptors and Jolly Brothers were neck and neck, fighting for the fourth place in order to qualify for the semi-finals.

The first game saw Jolly Brothers take on top of the log Spitbraai.

Jolly Brothers won the toss and elected to bat first.

It was a sticky wicket after the rain on Saturday evening and Jolly Brothers only managed to score 96 runs for the fall of eight wickets in 15.1 overs.

It was an easy chase by Spitbraai, who got the score in 17.3 overs for the fall of six wickets.

Raptors lost to Hulapalu Blazers, who batted first and scored 87 runs for the fall of eight wickets in their 18.3 overs.

Raptors failed to chase the score and only managed to score 82 runs from 14.2 overs with eight wickets falling.

There was superb bowling from Emile Jacobs of Hulapalu Blazers, who destroyed the batting lineup of Raptors by taking three wickets from his three overs and only conceding nine runs.

Despite the loss, Raptors finished fourth with the kit bonus points and booked their spot in the semis.

Rusty Ballies scored the highest score of the day, 170 runs from their 20 overs for the fall of seven wickets.

Hulapalu Blazers struggled to chase the score and only managed 88 runs for the fall of eight wickets in 14.4 overs.

Good performance with the ball by Shaun de Lange of Rusty Ballies, netting three wickets from his three overs, conceding 19 runs.

Bernhard Kruger of Hulapalu Blazers also put in a superb performance with the ball as he netted three wickets from his four overs, conceding 29 runs.

The semis and finals of Sunday 2 with Raptors taking on log leaders Spitbraai and Favour8s taking on Rusty Ballies.

Games will start at 12.30pm at Olympia Park Stadium.
