Thrilling finish to junior rugby season

The home team was well represented in the tournament, with a team in almost every age group.

Springs Youth Rugby Club took part in the Valke Junior Club competition on Saturday at the Springs Rugby Club home grounds in Geduld.

The home team was well represented in the tournament, with a team in almost every age group.

There were nine age groups comprising teams from the Valke Rugby district.

It was a full day of rugby and spectators watched the semi-final matches in the morning and the finals in the afternoon.

“Our under-10A team was the only age group that got gold, beating Boksburg, Brakpan Groen and Kempton Park.

“As a club, we’re very proud of all our teams’ performances this season,” says Youth Rugby Club coordinator Machelle Beukman.

In their final match, the u-10A team beat the Boksburg boys 33 to 7.
