Springs Old Boys u-15s knocked out of Cup

The team’s lone goal came from Letago Mokoena in the first half.

The Springs Old Boys u-15s lost 6-1 at Pollak Park against the Benoni All Stars on Sunday afternoon.

The home team started off well but lacked the killer touch to convert their chances to goals.

The team’s lone goal came from Letago Mokoena in the first half.

U-15 team manager Mathapelo Mokoena said the loss was in part due to the difficulties the team had with training over the past three weeks due to the school holidays.

Despite the loss, Mokoena says the boys gave it their best shot.

“All the boys are now back from their vacation and we will be back on our feet from Wednesday onwards,” says Mokoena.

The loss means the SOB are now out of the cup competition and will focus purely on the league.

The team will be looking to bounce back quickly when they play against Castleview on Sunday in Germiston.
