Springs Old Boys play their hearts out

By the time the final whistle was blown at full-time, the scoreboard read 1-1 and extra time was given to try and decide a winner.

 

Springs Old Boys Football Club saw one of its closest games this Saturday when the u-9s took on Balfour Park.

Both teams were evenly matched and the contest for the ball was fought ferociously and with great passion.

Both teams’ strategies were to be on the offensive all of the time, when a player got the goal he rushed toward goals.

However, great teamwork was also displayed with frequent passes and assists near the goals, and players cheered each other on.

By the time the final whistle was blown at full-time, the scoreboard read 1-1 and extra time was given to try and decide a winner.

No goals were conceded during extra time and the players fought with even more intent.

The match would finally be decided by a penalty shoot-out where the Springs boys saw themselves lose 4-3.

All in all, the boys played with great tenacity and demonstrated that they were willing to give it their all to win.

The boys were cheered on by their parents and onlookers.

Their coach expressed his pride in his players and their determination and willingness to win.
