Springs defeated by Tukkies

KWV Springs rugby team took on the almighty Tukkies team on Saturday as part of the nationwide Volcano Super League.

It was a game of attrition as both sides had to battle hard to gain ground.

Springs made it difficult for the reigning champions to score and Tukkies were only allowed a lead of 10-5 by half-time.

However, by the second half, Springs found themselves on the back foot and had to defend for the majority of the game.

Coach Ockert Brits says he is overall proud of the team’s performance.

The points came from Cliffie Viljoen, who scored Springs’ only try, while André Smith made the conversion.

When full time was called, the scoreboard read 24-10 in favour of Tukkies.
