For the coaches, Sandy and Mitchell Naude, it was a good start to the season despite losing at home.

“This was their first game of the season and we’ve had quite a few new players join us, so as a team, the players need to gel.

“We’re going to end up in a better position this year compared to last year.

“Of course, we’re aiming for the top of the league,” says Sandy and Mitchell.

For them, the team can only improve from here onwards.

Looking back at the game, the coaches say there are a lot of positive things to draw from team performance.

“Our defence was much better than last year and we have a stronger midfield now and our finishing is always good,” says Sandy and Mitchell.

Sandy and Mitchell went on to say the team’s passing, positioning and fitness is something they will continue to work on as the team struggled towards the end of the match.

Next week, the team will have a bye as it is the Easter weekend.

• The Springs Old Boys u-12 division four team also played away on Sunday and lost 5-4 to Rovers.
