KWV lose Gold Cup match against Impalas

The Springs KWV rugby team started their Gold Cup campaign on Saturday at Olympia Park in an action-packed match against the Newpak Impalas.

The visitors trashed the first team 63-29, flushing all KWV’s weeks of preparation down the drain.

The team has made an impressive return with 10 tries, but it was not nearly enough.

Lock Francois Fourie has taken over from where Dowayn Botha left off last week and carried the ball strong.

In their last at-home match against Sishen (North West), coach Ockert Brits said he was impressed with their performance.

They won 31-24.

Now it seems the team has to work extra hard to keep their dream of winning the Gold Cup alive.
