Catering to students on the court and in class rooms

Tennis enthusiasts and the beginners are urged to register to join the Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence.

Tennis beginners and amateurs can soon be transformed into tennis professionals at the Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence in the New Year.

The school is set to reopen its doors with new exciting additions suited for a variety of students.

Loyiso Matsha, a coach at the school stated that although the main focus will still be tennis, the new elements will all help in bettering the student’s skills in the sport.

Table tennis, boxing fitness training and maths and English enrichment programmes will be introduced.

“The fitness classes will assist our tennis players in developing their endurance, as well as footwork,” said Matsha.

The enrichment programme will target the primary school going students and classes are set to kick-start on January 15.

“We have realised that some parents are wary of allowing their children to participate in extramural activities because they fear that their children’s studies may start to backslide,” said Matsha.

“By seeking the intervention of maths and English tutors we strive to ensure that our students remain on course with their school work and still find enough time to train.”
