The following members were honoured by being given Honourary Life Membership at the club: André Kotzé (a member since 1963), Henk Hoffmann and George Cronk (known as Mr Squash at the club for many years).

The meeting ended on a sombre note as the club was informed of the death of one of the current Honourary Life Members and stalwart at the club, Jakes de Lange.

“Although not very active for the past few years, Oom Jakes, as he was affectionately known, will be remembered for his efforts as a committee member and more so for his efforts as greens manager and the mint condition the course always was in when he was in charge.

“RIP Oom Jakes,” says Kotzé.
