Edenvale beats Springs Old Boys u-12B soccer team 4-0

“This is the first season this team is playing together, so they still need to gel as a team,” says coach Allen Naicker.

The Springs Old Boys u-12 B team lost heavily against Edenvale on Sunday.

The home teams struggled to find their feet in the match and were out-muscled by the bigger and stronger Edenvale team.

From the onset of the match, it was clear the visitors were a more cohesive unit as they had played together for a longer period of time.

The Edenvale strikers put the SOB defenders under pressure from and while initially, the home team coped well, it was only in the second half that the visitors scored the other two goals.

Coach Allen Naicker says the team’s performance will only get better in future.

“This is the first season this team is playing together, so they still need to gel as a team.

“For some of our players, this is the first time they have played club soccer.

“We are still trying a few things and moving players around to find the right position for them,” says Naicker.

The team has a chance to get back to winning ways on Sunday when they face Flamingo at home.
