Springs u-8 soccer team beat Benoni 6-0

The Springs Old Boys u-8 team played against the Benoni Northerns on Saturday at the Springs Old Boys Club.

The home team beat their opponents 6-0.

Coach Kelly Clarke says this was by far their best performance yet.

“They played the way I want them to play and it was brilliant,” he says.

Kelly says they still have a long way to go as they’ve only played 12 out of 22 games so far, but he is positive that the team will win the league.

“I am very happy and very proud of this team.”

He says they played exceptionally well, considering it was just after school holidays and it was difficult to practice.

“We are going to win the league. We just have to focus on ourselves.”

Lesedi Monanthane scored one goal for his team, Neo Hlongwane scored two goals and Prince Phiri scored three goals.

“Prince has scored many goals in various games this year.”

The team’s next home game will take place on August 13.
