Three local bowling teams lost their games in first round

Round one of the EKB Men's Saturday League.

Ekurhuleni Bowls Men’s Saturday League kicked off with the first round on Saturday.

Bowlers represented six clubs at Springs Town Bowling Club, while more bowlers represented their club at Northmead.

Round one started off with Springs Town playing against Lake Club on the Johnny Lotter Greens.

They lost their game to Lake Club by 15 shots.

Lake Club won the game with 6-0 points.

Another Springs Town team (eight players in a team) played against Edenvale B team at Avion Park.

They also lost their game 2-4 with 13 shots.

The Premier team bowlers include John Molupi, Izak Hattingh, Willie Nel, Rudolph Pretorius, Neels Jonker and Johan Muller.

They played away against Benoni Bowling Club at Northmead and lost their game by 16 shots and gained no points, leaving Benoni in the lead with 2-0.

According to Dirk Coetzee from Springs Town Bowling Club, they will play 10 games of 18 ends.

Springs Old Boys team won their game against Delmas Bowling Club, played at Heidelberg Bowling Club.

They won their game with one shot giving them a 4-2 point lead.
