Colourful fun at sports day

A colour run was hosted at Birnel College in Dunnottar during a sports day for Molyneux Pre-Primary and Selcourt Pre-Primary on Saturday.

Instead of the schools’ annual wheel derby, fun was had by all who attended this year’s colour run and sports day.

Children from the age of 18 months to six years participated in the colour run and obstacle course, sponsored by Mandie Wagener.

Families enjoyed the bacon and boerewors rolls on sale.

Children had fun playing at the game stalls and jumping on the jumping castles.

“Birnel College, Molyneux Pre-Primary and Selcourt Pre-Primary make a great trio and we would like to thank all the staff members from all three schools for volunteering to assist on the day and making it a huge success,” says Johan and Ailsa Nel, owners of the three schools.

Chris van Niekerk sponsored the first prize vouchers to the winners.

Scarlett van Zyl from Selcourt Pre-Primary and Zothani Skosana from Molyneux Pre-Primary won first prize on the day.

The runners-up with the cash prize were Buhle Ndlovu from Selcourt Pre-Primary and Amahle Dlamini from Molyneux Pre-Primary.

The school would like to thank all the parents and their children for attending and making the day so memorable.

“We look forward to Birnel’s sports day on October 21,” says Nel.
