New bowling committee announced

Bowling club announce their new committee.

Springs Town Bowling Club held their AGM followed by their annual prize-giving at the club on Saturday.

The new committee is chairman: Dirk Coetzee, vice-chairman: Izak Hattingh, club secretary: Pieter Rudolph, treasurer: Tahlita Coetzee, green keeper and bar manager: Domenico Ragusa, committee members: Tokkie Hattingh, Emma Ragusa, Cecilia Fourie, Tony Tancrel, Monica Rudolph and John Molupi.

The club wishes all committee members good luck for the new season.

Prize winners are as follow:

Men’s drawn pairs winners are Herkie van der Berg and Mybert Visser.

Hattingh is the men’s singles handicap winner.

The men’s open singles champion trophy was given to Okkie Nel.

Herkie van der Berg and Willie Nel received the men’s selected pairs trophy.

The ladies open singles champion trophy went to Tokkie Hattingh.

Emma received the ladies’ singles handicap trophy and her husband Domenico is the men’s senior singles champion.

Emma and Tahlita won the ladies’ drawn pairs.

Izak and Tokkie are the current mixed selected pairs champions, while John and Joan Calitz won the mixed drawn pairs.

The men’s novice winner is Basie Knoetze while Monica Rudolph is the women’s novice.

Social bowls will continue to take place every Tuesday and Thursday, 9am for 9.30am and Saturday at 12.30pm for 1pm.

“We have decided to have social bowls on a Friday at 3pm as well,” says Hattingh.
