Best bowlers rewarded at Springs Old Boys Bowling Club

As the bowling season comes to an end in August, the Springs Old Boys' (SOB) Bowling Club held its annual prize- giving on Sunday.

At the club’s prize-giving Sharon Pratt received a prize for Ladies’ Victrix Ladorum, while Brian Harrison received the prize of Men’s Victor Ladorum.

Mandy MacDonald was the lady of the moment when she received a prize for the Most Improved Player of the year.

In the ladies’ singles open Sharon Pratt was the winner with Lyn Seiderer as runner-up.

In the men’s singles open the winner was Brian Harrison with Nigel Williams as the runner-up.

Pat Birbeck won first place for the ladies’ singles senior and Margie MacDonald was the runner-up.

For the men’s singles senior Jon Birbeck took first place and Dennis Clarke was the runner-up.

In the ladies’ handicap Cheryl Brooks took first place, Lyn Seiderer as runner-up and in the men’s handicap Brian Harrison was the winner with Scotch Thompson as runner-up.

The ladies’ pairs winners were Cindy Hinrichsen and Sharon Pratt with Bea Gosse and Margie MacDonald as runners-up.

The men’s pairs winners were Pat Arnott and Wollie Kirshbaum with Stuart Pollock and Scotch Thompson as runners- up.

The club also awarded Cindy Hinrichsen and Gavin Jamison as winners of the mixed pairs and Bea Gosse and Kim Cook as runners-up.

The novice prize winner was Mandy Weaver and Leonie van Vollenhoven was runner-up.
