Victorious win for home soccer team

Local premier league soccer team takes victorious win.

Springs Old Boys’ premier soccer league u-16 team played against Bonaero Park on home ground on Sunday.

Old Boys showed their worth by scoring their first goal within five minutes of the game kicking off.

“The game was a fast-paced affair with Bonaero levelling the score shortly thereafter,” says Wilma Ackerman from the club.

The two teams continued to battle it out leaving the field at half time with a 2-1 lead for the Old Boys team.

Shortly into the second half, SOB scored again, only to have their opponents take advantage of a gap which changed the score to 3-2.

For the rest of the second half the home team dominated their opponents.

“We were quick to score another two goals,” says Ackerman.

Madimetsa Buthelezi and Manelisi Manwela each scored two goals, while Luke Fraser and Rogan Read scored one goal each.

When the final whistle blew it was the home team who were victorious with a convincing 6-2 score.
