High-octane frenzy is expected at The Rock Raceway on Friday and Saturday.
Drivers from all over South Africa, including the hotrod world champion Chris Haird from Suffolk, England, will be taking part.
“With over 150 competitor entries and no less than 10 starters in each class, racing will be the ultimate adrenaline rush for any patron of the oval,” says Abie Sada from Raceway.
V8 and rotary fans will be in for a treat as the high powered chariots roar and scream around the venue.
This event will mark the fourth round of the National Hotrod Championships with 25 cars starting on the grid.
A host of saloon classes and open wheelers, including rotaries and V8 sprint cars, will also try and break the lap record in each category during Friday’s qualifying session for the main event.
Practice and qualifying will start at 5pm, on Friday.
Gates open at 9am. Open practice and the national hotrods will qualify at 2pm. Racing will start at 3pm.
