Six to compete in fight night

Six locals to compete in full contact fights.

Six students from the United Martial Arts Springs Club has been chosen and will represent the club on a fight night.

Jimmy Oberholzer, Hannes Castelyn, Diwan Groenewald, Shante Castelyn, Miguel Muller and Pieter Groenewald will participate in the Full Contact Thabazimbi Bundu Bash Fight Night South Africa versus Canada.

Sensei Jaun Naudé says this is the biggest event of the year where the students will fight in the full contact ring and K1.

“The fight night takes place on Saturday at Thabazimbi and the students have been working incredibly hard for the last month,” he says.

“They are ready for the fight night and as their Sensei, I am very proud of them and all the hard work and long hours they put in every day to ready themselves for fighting.”

The United Martial Arts Springs Club’s students also took part in the Gauteng Championships in July.

“Twelve of our students were selected for the Gauteng team,” says Jaun.

The club does a variety of different modes such as points fighting, semi contact, full contact, kick-light and K1.
