Golf fun at Springs Country Club
Golfers were having a good time over the long weekend.
Springs Country Club hosted a Family Competition Day on Youth Day, June 16.
There were 59 players competing in the betterball stableford scramble from drives format.
In first place was Thys Franken and Alta Jacobs with 51 points.
Ilana Prinsloo and her husband, Stefan, took second place with 48 points.
Golfers also played an individual stableford competition on the day.
Johan van Deventer won the competition with 39 points.
His runner-up was Schalk Bloem with 35 points followed by Raymond Garside with 34 points.
Mark du Preez took nearest the pin at hole eight and 12.
The previous day, Thursday, 24 senior golfers played their weekly Senior Medal competition, hosted by Chris Nkosi.
First and second place were a tie of 68 nett points for Sam Mnguni and Paul Ditsego.
Chris Nkosi, the organiser of the event, took third place with 71 nett points.
“We are having fun at this weekly competition followed by a prize-giving,” he says.
