Rovers on par with Eleven Experience

Bazingeli Rovers drew 2 - 2 against Eleven Experience last Tuesday at the Pam Brink sports fields.

Made up of players from both Springs and KwaThema, the Bazingeli Rovers took on Eleven Experience for a nail-biter of a football game – when tensions ran high at the Pam Brink sports field last Tuesday.

The game was off to a slow start although Eleven Experience managed to score a goal, which was disallowed because the player was offside.

“As the game progressed and after a tongue lashing during the break, my boys gave a good account of themselves against a seasoned team,” says Rovers coach Knowledge Nyathi.

The changes that the Rovers made during the second half, paid off when substitute Thokoza “TK” Nyauza scored a cracker of a goal, after some nice buildup play, their coach says.

Rovers continued to pile on pressure and midfield kingpin, Sfiso “Figo” Gazide, had his shot at goal hit the crossbar while the Eleven Experience defender beat his own keeper, to try to play a back pass.

Rovers striker Wonder Dube was pulled out of the game, after he missed a golden opportunity to score. Musawenkosi “Jomo” Masango substituted Govet “Grosso” Mulaudzi and brought some stability to the troublesome left back position for Rovers.

Nyathi says that everyone thought the Rovers had pulled off a win against a formidable SAB league team, when the referee let play continue after the regulation.

Eleven Experience scored deep into the referee’s optional time – and the Rovers chairman, Vusi “Tower” Khumalohad, had a hard time hiding his disappointment after the final whistle blew.

The game ended in a 2 – 2 draw.

“It wasn’t easy for us, as we’re competing in the Safa SAB league, so we wanted to win at all costs – but nevertheless, our opponents made us sweat and it was a good game of football,” says Eleven Experience coach John Mosia.
