Practice makes perfect

Johannes Geldenhuys (30) is proud of his junior golfers who learn the skills necessary to become pro golfers.

“My academy at the Springs Country Club is growing and the eagerness of the junior players surprises me more and more every day,” says Johannes.

He urges the community to allow their children to take part in sport.

“We offer golf clinics during school holidays for the development of the juniors,” he says.

Tristen Viljoen (9) has been practising his golf skills for almost eight months.

Johannes says Tristen has improved dramatically.

Keagen van der Schyff (6) has been taught by Johannes for six months.

Johannes says he teaches the juniors the rules of the course, technical skills and how to apply these skills on the golf course.

“Golf is a healthy competitive sport and the juniors learn at a young age how to cope in this competition,” he says.
