SOB gets new bowling committee

The Springs Old Boys Bowling Club held its AGM last Sunday.

Mike Clarke, outgoing chairman, wished the new committee good luck for the new season.

The new committee members are:

• Chairman: Stuart Pollok;

• Vice-chairman: King Cooke;

• Secretary: Sharon Pratt;

• Competition secretary: Bea Gosse;

• Catering: Margie Macdonald; and

• Committee: Lynn Seiderer and Tommy Stevens.

• Selection committee: Brian Harrison and Margie.

The meeting was followed by the prize-giving.

The 2016 club Victor Ludorum is Stuart and the Victrix Ludorum is Lynn who also received the award for the most improved player.

Tommy received the trophy for the men’s novice while Clair Gosse received the women’s novice trophy.

The mixed pairs winners are Gavin Jamison and Cindy Hinrichsen, and in second place were Sharon and Pat Arnott.

Brian and King received the trophy for the men’s pairs with Stuart and Scotch Thomson as runners-up.

In the women’s pairs Bea and Margie took the winning trophy with Cindy and Sharon in second place.

Brian also took the handicap singles trophy and Allen Pryce was the runner-up.

The handicap singles women’s champion is Sharon with Lynn in second place.

Stuart won the men’s open singles trophy with Brian as the runner-up and Lynn is the women’s open singles trophy winner with Sharon in second place.

The senior singles club champion is Jon Birbeck with Dennis Clarke as runner-up.

Paula is the new women’s senior singles champion followed by Margie in second place.
