Two wins in a row for Evan

Pollak Park Golf Club was abuzz with competitions over the weekend.

Friday’s Meat Competition saw Tam Ntsangase in first place with 40 points, followed by Andrew Mothibe as runner-up with 39 points on count out.

The best front nine player was Demist Mogafe with 21 points on count out while Gary de Klerk was the best back nine player with 19 points on count out.

Part of the competitions held on Saturday was the Sanlam Cancer Challenge.

The results of Cancer Challenge are as follow:

In Division A, Evan Mackenzie took first position with 42 points while Donovan Grobler took second place with 37 points.

Werner du Toit was the winner of Division B with 38 points, while his runner-up, Marius Krause obtained 37 points.

The Division C winner was Tyron Lathwood with 38 points on count out, while Johan Van Heerden was the runner-up with 38 points on count out.

Another competition played on Saturday was the Ginger Golf Day.

One of the players, Mike Wiese, got a hole-in-one on the fourth hole.

“Well done to Mike,” says Rachel Howard of the club’s pro-shop.

No results of the Ginger Golf Day were available at the time of going to print.

Sunday morning’s game saw Evan Mackenzie taking first position with 34 pints on count out, while Donovan Grobler, his runner-up, took second place with 34 points on count out.

“We had a golf day for the Spot on Kids on Sunday and it was great to see local businessman and world renowned hairdresser Frikkie de Jager taking first position with 42 points,” says Rachel.

The Winter Championships will be played on Saturday.

A shotgun start fund-raising event will take place on Sunday.
