Fun competition on the golf course
Springs Country Club hosted its Open Foursome Championships Betterball Stableford format on Saturday.
The 72 players teed off at 7am and played 36 holes.
Jeandré Kotze and Vernon Hendrikse took first position with 139 nett points.
Their runners-up, Alfred Cebekulu and Lethu Zinu, obtained 141 nett points.
Deon Kotze and Delano Kotze secured best gross position with 159 points on count out.
The morning results of the first 18 holes saw Harry Mallet and Gawie Greeff take first place with 71 nett points, while Piet de Wet and Rentia de Wet obtained 72.5 points.
During the afternoon greenkeeper Koos Erasmus and his golf partner Dewies van Deventer secured first place with 68.5 net points, while Job Skosana and Chris Nkosi took second place with 70 points.
Nearest the pin was taken at holes two and nine by golf partners William Xaba and Paki Makwanazi, while Shelton Msiya and Themba Soyisa took nearest the pin at hole 18.
