Let the netball games begin

On Saturday the Slovo Park sports grounds were host to action-packed netball.

Players of the Young Stars Netball Team who played in Saturday's game at the Slovo Park Grounds (from left): Back: Innocentia Mahlangu, Petunia Nkosi, Prenecia Malinga, Ntsiki Silelo, Thembelihle Shongwe, Coach Trenna Rasanavho, Precious Ngwetjana and Thulisa Dimane. A total of four teams competed on the day.

“We are playing trials to identify our final teams that will go forward to participate in the netball league due to start next month,” says Young Stars‘ coach, Trenna Rasanavho.

The Young Stars’ open netball team played a match against the Young Killers’ open netball team.

The Young Killers defeated the Young Stars by a small margin with 11 points to 10.

Goal shooter for the Young Stars was Thulisa Dimane.

The second game played by the Young Stars open team was against the Destroyers Netball Team.

The Destroyers did just that as they beat the Young Stars by an overall score of 15 points to 14.

Goal shooter for the the Young Stars was Puleng Lechaba.

“There are still a few weeks left before we make our final selections,” says Trenna.

“We will see how things pan out next weekend.”
