Hattingh couple excel

Izak and Tokkie Hattingh are the new Mixed Selected Pairs bowl winners of the Springs Town Bowling Club.

The couple played against Domenico and Emma Ragusa at the club last Thursday.

Izak Hattingh challenged Dirk Coetzee in the Men’s Senior Singles on Saturday.

Dirk was crowned the champion.

A few other bowlers took to the greens and enjoyed a lovely yet windy day of social bowls.

Club members also played a couple of social games on Monday followed by the 2015 prize-giving and a lovely chicken potjie, sponsored by Abe and Cecile Fourie.

Yvonne Lotter received a certificate, a medal and a trophy for the Women’s Singles Handicap.

Emma was the runner-up.

She also received a medal with partner Ulrika Swanepoel for the Women’s Selected Handicap.

Emma and Joan Calitz took second place.

Tokkie and Talita Coetzee received certificates, medals and a trophy for the Women’s Drawn Pairs while Emma and Mabel Ndaba took second place.

Mybert Visser is the 2015 Men’s Singles Handicap winner with Izak as runner-up.

Domenico is the Men’s Senior Singles winner with Herkie van den Berg as runner-up.

Alec Hunter and Okkie Nel were crowned the Men’s Drawn Pairs winners with Keith Ralfe and George Weight in second place.

The Men’s Selected Pairs winners are Kirk Ralfe and Neels Jonker with Izak and John Molupi in second place.

Neels and Talita are the Mixed Drawn Pairs winners with Domenico and Lydia Mancele in second place.

John and Mabel received the prize for the Mixed Selected Pairs with Domenico and Emma in second place.

The club unanimously decided Mybert was the Most Improved Player in 2015.

Tokkie is the Women’s Open Singles Champion of 2015 and 2016.

Yvonne received the runner-up prize for 2015.

The 2015 Men’s Open Singles champion prize was given to John with Izak as runner-up.

Social bowls is played every Tuesday and Thursday at 8.30am for 9am and on Saturday at 1pm for 1.30pm.

Izak, competition secretary, says club members must take note that on May 9 and 10, the club’s Open Singles Championship will be played.
