Super 16 tournament tees off

The first round of the Springs Country Club’s Super 16 tournament took place on Saturday.

The tournament was created with the aim of involving players from other clubs, while also raising funds for the club.

Bennie de Lange, the golf captain of the Springs Country Club, says that the competition stared in 2009.

He further explains that the tournament consists of eight group A teams, who play against each group B team.

The tournament runs over seven months, until the top teams in the two groups play in the semi-finals, leading the two group winners to compete in the finals to determine the overall winner.

The teams consist of six players each, with each team being divided into three pairs.

The Warratahs were the overall winning team, with 90 points.

The tournament’s best individual player was Frans Du Toit, who had an overall score of 42 points.

On the same day, a Betterball Stableford competition was also played.

The overall winners were Clive Dabner and Raymond Garside, who won with 47 points on count out.

Coming a close second were Koos Erasmus and Frans Du Toit, who also had 47 points on count out.
