Cricket stars in the making

Bakerton Young Stars Cricket Club (BYSCC) held their first Junior Cricket Awards Ceremony on Saturday.

The event was held at the Springs Secondary School in Bakerton.

The awards ceremony was a celebration of the achievements of the junior cricket team covered under the wings of Bakerton Cricket.

Chairman of the BYSCC, Himmat Parbhoo, says they always urge the parents to be more involved in their children’s sport development.

The u-8, u-10 and u-12 teams, successfully managed a top three finish in their respective leagues.

“The coaches of the respective teams were very satisfied with the performance of the players throughout the season,” says Himmat.

He adds that a lot of players showed tremendous improvements in their cricketing skills and it was evident in the performances and results of the players and teams.

Special appreciation was expressed to the coaches Munier Teladia and Azhar Shaikh, Chico Parbhoo and Moshin Patel for their time and effort in preparing the boys for the games.

Himmat says they wish to encourage more players to get involved in cricket and to be more active.
