Director League winners

Springs Old Boys (SOB) Directors cricket team are the Easterns Cricket Director League winners.

The league is played over 16 weeks both away and on SOB’s home ground.

In the final game SOB played at home against Actonville.

Actonville won the toss and decided to bat first.

The players were bowled out by SOB for 94 runs in 32.2 overs.

SOB bowler Suhel Saleh took three wickets in 10 overs including three maidens and scored 23 runs.

When SOB cricketers started batting they were confident that they would win the title.

Monir Raheman knocked 33 runs not out with the bat and Irfan Hansrod managed 27 runs not out.

SOB won the game with five wickets.

Javid Patel, Directors’ captain, says the team played well throughout the league losing only two of their games.

The best all-rounder of the season is Irfan.

The top team scorer and best batsman is Zuber Turkey with 593 runs for this season.

“I am extremely proud of my team and of what they have accomplished this season,” says Javid.

It was a proud moment and the team’s fantastic performance contributed to this overall win. The team will receive the floating trophy at a ceremony in June.
