Stefan wins another fight

Stefan 'Mr Kick' Pretorius from Springs won his second welterweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fight during his third professional EFC fight.

On Saturday, Stefan (23) fought against Ambamba ‘Robo’ Matala (28) at Carnival City at the EFC47.

“I was super fit and ready to go the full length of three rounds of five minutes each, but the fight was over in just two minutes and 17 seconds,” says Stefan.

He explains that when the battle began, he immediately put pressure on his opponent.

“Although I slipped and fell in the first minute, I was quickly up and on my feet and we continued the fight.”

Both of the fighters showcased their kickboxing skills, but Stefan says it was his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that gave him the upper hand in the cage.

“In the second minute, we landed on the ground and I used patience, forcing my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills on my opponent,” he says.

Stefan finished the fight with a triangle choke and won his second welterweight fight in the cage with a submission.

“From here I’m continuing my training as I was very blessed not to have sustained any injuries in the fight, my coaches and I will negotiate with EFC as to when and who I will fight next,” Stefan concludes.
