Two title fights to kick off EFC 2016 at Carnival City

Kicking off what is set to be an action-packed year for EFC fans, are two world title fights at EFC 47 taking place at Carnival City on Saturday, March 5.

EFC 47 is the first of 10 massive EFC Africa events scheduled to take place throughout the course of the year and will see the lightweight and featherweight titles on the line as the headline fights.

In the main event of the evening, Boyd Allen is set to challenge South Africa’s dominant lightweight champion Leon ‘Iron Lion’ Mynhardt. Allen gets his chance at Mynhardt’s gold after being named as the replacement for Dave ‘The Pain Train’ Mazany, who was forced to withdraw from the title fight due to an infection.

Scotland’s Danny Henry returns to take-on DRC’s undefeated Igeu ‘Smiley’ Kabesa. Henry had a stellar year in 2015, winning all three of his fights inside the hexagon within the space of four months.

Kabesa has been antagonizing Henry and calling for his shot since claiming the belt in October. Now riding on a six fight win streak, the wrestling phenomenon has dropped down to featherweight in order to challenge for the belt as he looks to build his own legacy.

In addition to these two massive championship fights, there will be 11 more exciting bouts to keep fans on the edges of their seats.
