Christmas tennis fun

The members of the Selection Park Tennis Club enjoyed a fun round robin on Saturday.

Michelle Kent, vice-chairman, says a round robin is where every player plays one serve each in four games, with their designated partner and then changes partners to play another four games.

She says the idea was that every player should wear something “Chrismassy”.

Points were deducted from the players who were not dressed accordingly.

Scott Wiggill won the fun day competition in the men’s division with a score of 22 points and Michelle won the women’s division with 21 points.

Isabel Thurston won the best dressed woman prize for her “Mother Christmas” skirt and her elf pants which she wore later during the day.

Ryno de Lange won the prize for the best dressed man for wearing a red tie.

Michelle says there were other spot prizes handed out as well.

The fun day was followed by a braai and Carols by Candlelight.
