Awesome foursome golf fun
The Open Foursomes Golf Championships took place at the Springs Country Club on Saturday.
Ninety-four players, including husband and wife partners, who took to the fairways to compete in this interesting and enjoyable team game.
The format was Medal Strokeplay where teams hit alternate shots, as part of a relay.
Bennie de Lange, club captain, says it was great fun and everyone enjoyed the 36 holes played on the day.
The results are as follow:
Johan Kruger and his partner Nicky Minnaar won the championships with 136 points.
José Carrazon and Ian Johnson were second with 142 point on count out.
Best gross was won by Deon Kotze and Delano Kotze with 153 points.
The Best AM Nett winners were husband and wife team Wikus Nel and Merlene Nel with 68 points.
Piet Erasmus and Ean Nel took second place with 70 points.
The Best PM Nett winners are Frik Colyn and Nols Viljoen with 65 points and not far behind them was Frank Carrazon and Ian Coetzee with 68 points.
The Nearest the Pin winners were Andre Systerman at hole two, Hendrik Visser at hole eight and Martin Nhlapo at hole 15.
Cornelius Nomandla won nearest the pin at the 18th hole for two on par four.
Monthly Medal will be played on Saturday.
