Golfers tie in league competition
The Senior Handicap League competition between Springs Country Club and Ebotse Golf Club ended in a draw on Saturday.
The four local teams won two rounds and lost two against the Ebotse competitors.
The handicap league is played with eight players from each club who play against golfers from other Ekurhuleni clubs.
Each team in each group play against each other, and the winner of each group will play in the final to determine the league winner.
Frans Molefe, Nelson Mphatse played at home and lost 0-1, while Ali Thipe and Peter Nyathela won their game 1-0.
Johan Kruger and Connie Wiid played away and lost 0-1, while Bennie de Lange and Godna Makhubu won 1-0.
The club competition was also played on Saturday.
It was won by Okkie Strydom with 39 points.
Theo Jordaan was second with 36 points on count out and Stefan van der Merwe was third with 36 points on count out.
