John plans on becoming a SA bowler

John Molupe (28), a bowler from Springs Town Bowling Club, excelled in the SA Bowling trials.

He is eager to be part of the SA National Protea Bowling team and will work hard to achieve this.

Fourteen players from all over the country were invited to the trials, which took place in Edenvale last week.

Their skills were tested over two days and John played well, garnering 45%.

SA Bowling head coach Theuns Fraser is impressed with John’s positive attitude.

“All the bowlers had to achieve at least 50% and John did well with 45%,” he adds.

During the trials, each bowler was evaluated while playing games.

Theuns feels John has talent and a bright future in bowling.

He plans to invite John to a national camp to see how he performs against the best bowlers in the country.
