Springs golfers win Handicap League
The Springs Country Club had an overall win of 4-2 during the Handicap League played on Saturday.
The two teams from Springs were divided – six players remained at home to take on six golfers from the Benoni Lake Golf Club, while the other six played in Benoni.
The cold and windy weather did little to deter the golfers on their home course and they beat Benoni Lake Club with a score of 3-0.
The six golfers who played in Benoni lost 2-1.
Club secretary Bennie de Lange says the overall score of the two teams was 4-2, making them the winners of the Handicap League.
On Saturday, golfers from different teams will play in the Super 16 tournament hosted by the club.
