Stealers face Red Sox at Boksburg

The Springs Stealers baseball team played against Kempton Park Red Sox on Sunday, at the Boksburg Stadium.

The Stealers had to shuffle their team around just before the game started, as some of the players did not arrive.

Stealers managed to gain a good few runs in the first innings and spirits were high.

The other team however, was strong and quickly upped the score with several home runs.

The Red Sox gained from the unplanned shuffle and managed to win the game 16 – 8.

“The newer players are showing significant improvement, however small errors are still costing us on the score board,” says Francois McGregor, team captain and one of the coaches.

He adds that Red Sox is one of the strongest teams in the league.

“Not being mercy-ruled is a good sign of improvement.”
