Their coach, Pieter Stoltz (21) says he is very proud of his students.
Stoltz has been coaching the juniors for a year and they are already showing progress.
Daniella Chapman (8) from Laerskool Selection Park took part in the junior tournament at Alberton on April 2.
This was her first tournament and she won nine out of the 10 games played in the mixed age group.
Palesa Mabotja (13) from Springs Girls’ High School (SGHS) was picked for the SA’s schools’ girls team, where she won three out of five single games played.
Deonette van der Merwe (14) from SGHS took part in her first tournament at the Gauteng East Nupay U/18 tournament where she placed 12th out of 32 players.
Jacques Steyn (13) from Laerskool Selection Park also took part in the Gauteng East Nupay tournament and made it to the semi-finals of the doubles. Another junior player from Laerskool Selection Park, Logan Stoltz (12), made it to the semi-finals of the doubles and to the finals of the singles in the Gauteng East Nupay tournament.
He also reached the ranking of 38 in the U/12 category in the country.
