Ten day horse show

This held from March 28 until April 6 at the Kyalami Equestrian Park.

Non-stop action will once again take place during the Nissan Easter Festival which is held from March 28 until April 6 at the Kyalami Equestrian Park.

The ten-day-long horse show’s highlight of this is the Nissan SA Outdoor Grand Prix, hosted this year on Monday, April 6 at 2pm where the top 24 riders are competing in the Bob Charter arena.

This two round competition has its rounds being set over 12 or 13 fences, including a water jump, a double and a treble combination.

Over the years the show has incorporated a host of other activities such as Lipizzaner displays at the gala evenings, dog shows, vaulting and western riding.

The show caters for all ages including activities such as the Nissan Test Drive station, a Nissan kids zone and a variety of food and market stalls.

Chairman of Kyalami Equestrian Park Clem dos Santos, says: “Having Nissan on board has allowed us to offer more to the serious competitor, their supportive family members and even those experiencing the sport for their first time. There is no doubt that this event is set to reach new heights in terms of both entertainment as well as horsemanship and we strongly encourage everyone to join us.”

The refreshment area is offering a wide range of food and beverages as well as a host of stalls selling equestrian equipment and pet loving products.

Some of the highlights of the show include Saturday’s show jumping form 1:10m to 1:50m, the Nissan speed and 4 bar event and a spit braai and sundowners.

Sunday’s highlights include the 1.10m and 1.35m championships, Beacon Easter egg hunt, Nissan 6 bar competition and the Nissan celebrity fancy dress competition.

On Monday will the 1.40 championships take place, as well as the junior Nissan SA Outdoor Grand Prix, 1.50 Nissan SA Outdoor Grand Prix, Nissan NP200, Beacon Easter Bunny and a police horse display.
