‘I want to give it to him’

Tumisang Madiba is ready to take down Matthew Buirski in the MMA hexagon.

EFC 37, to be held at Carnival City on February 21 is only days away and Springs’ Tumisang Madiba (26) is ready to rumble.Madiba, who fights out of Rio Grappling Springs, will be facing off against Matthew Buirski (26) from World of Warriors in Edenvale in his fifth fight.

Currently on a three win winning streak, the featherwight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter says “I have been training hard so people can expect to see a good fight.

“The city is going to erupt when we step into the hexagon in three weeks.”

While his previous fight against Buirski went to a decision, Madiba believes that his preperations for this fight will see the fight going to him.

“In our previous fight I was robbed.

“This time there will be none of that, I’m finishing this fight as quickly as possible,” he says with confidence.

When asked how he plans to finish the fight, Madiba assures his fans that he is going for a knock out victory.

“I have studied his style and I have never seen him throw combinations.

“He throws punches and then runs away and I’ll be taking advantage of that to see me finishing the fight quickly.

“I especially want to win after I read an EFC interview in which he said that I am cocky.

“I want to give it to him.”

He said that while he is determined to win, “this is MMA and anything can happen but I will make it happen.”

If he wins this fight, Madiba will be on a four win streak and hope that he will then be given the shot at a title fight.

“2015 is the year I said I will be a champion and I am on track to make that happen.

“Matthew is just another step closer to my goals, although I am not  looking at him with disrespect but it is my time to be a champion.

“This is about what I want and making my name in the MMA game.”

Madiba has credited his team mates at Rio Grappling XKT and his coach Braam Booysen for helping him prepare and get into shape for this fight.

“I am also grateful to all my sponsors for making it possible for me to do this.

“To the people of the city who support me, I love them, I appreciate them and I am bringing them the belt.”
