Cricket season continues

Three teams played the past weekend.

After a break during the festive season, the cricket teams of Springs Old Boys (SOB) continued their season this past weekend.

The Saturday fourth league lost with 2 wickets against Tembisa.

SOB scored 126 runs, with Anthony Clark scoring 21 runs.

The bowlers who bowled well for old boys are Brett Mostert (7 overs 31 runs 3 wickets), Derek Brown (7 overs 42 runs 2 wickets) and Jempton Chinyenetere (6 overs 24 runs 2 wickets)

The club’s Premium side won KwaThema’s team on Sunday.

SOB won the toss and decided to bowl first.

The SOB bowlers Cameron Birnie (10 overs 38 runs and 3 wickets), Jared James (5 overs 13 runs 2 wickets), Travis Victor (3 overs 9 runs 2 wickets) and Franco Marais (8 overs 29 runs 2 wickets) made sure that KwaThema was bowled out for 148 runs.

The Saturday first league team that played against United Cricket Club won the first match with a good batting performance from Gerhard Jordaan.
