Directors lose out

The Springs Old Boys' Directors cricket team lost against Benoni Northerns on Sunday.

The team was bowled out for 178 runs in 36 overs.

The top scorer of the match was Monir Raheman who scored 68 runs not out and took three wickets.

Benoni Northerns scored 179 runs in 39 overs and six wickets down.

Saturday League:

The first league played against Kempton Park and lost by five wickets.

Fourth league, Springs Old Boys beat Watville by six wickets.

Sunday League:

Premier side played against United and with a very good opening stand of 87 runs between openings.

Good bowling from Travis Victor 10 overs and two wickets for 31 runs and Cameron Bernie seven overs and two wickets for 52 runs, but could not stop United from winning by five wickets.

Premier reserve also had a tough day in the field playing against CBC Boksburg and losing by five wickets as well.

Junior results:

Under eight lost against Avion.

Under 10 A Springs Old Boys played against Vosloorus, scoring a total of 172 runs. The team scored a 100 runs victory.

Under 10 S played against Avion and lost by nine wickets.

Under 12 A played against Kempton Park on Friday evening in a day and night match and lost by only two runs.

Under 12 S played against Avion on Saturday and SOB won by 10 runs.

Under 14 A Springs Old Boys played against Wattville only scoring 87 runs with good bowling from Anro Janse van Rensburg and Francios Swart, each picking up two wickets. Anro Janse van Rensburg scored 23 runs and Michael Meyer scored 16 runs not out made sure that they won the match.

Under 14 S played against Avion and lost by two wickets.
