The Engineers Golf Club in Marievale was a scene of celebration on Saturday after stalwart Hennie Tolmay returned from the Benoni Country Club.
He recently won the B division at the Sanlam Cancer Day competition.
All the club winners at this competition represented their clubs at the Ekurhuleni East Regional play-offs which was held recently at the Benoni Country Club.
During these two competitions he took on the bigger Ekurhuleni clubs and made it two wins in a row.
Brian Tillie, spokesman of the club, says strong winds and cool conditions did not deter Hennie and he won on 34 points at the play-offs.
These points earned him a place in the Sanlam Cancer Day National finals at Sun City.
Brian says all the members of the club wish him well.
“Happy golfing Hennie,” he says.
