The boxers at this club is due to take part in another tournament in July
Boxers from Bert Collins Boxing Club won five out of five matches and was the overall winner of the annual Mashakane Games held in Boksburg on Saturday.
Koos Nienaber won 2-1 with a judges decision over his opponent for Pretoria.
Geanné Dicks surprised everyone with her boxing techniques in the second and third round and won with 3-0 judges decision.
Another excellent fight for Brandon Alberts’ first fight where he showed excellent boxing skills by beating his opponent over three two-minute rounds.
Willie Delport had an unfortunate loss when he was knocked out in the first round.
Marnes Locher’s win his fight and Jacobus de Waal, surprised everyone when he won his fight in the third round, when his opponent was disqualified for an offence.
“We are happy with our win and the fact that we are the overall winners in Ekurhuleni,” says coach Jeanette Dyzel.
Geanné, Brandon and Marnes will represent the club at the next tournament to be held in July.
Jeanette adds she believes they will make the club proud.
