Seeing gold

The Springs Stars Gymnastics and Trampoline Club took part in the Eastern Gauteng Trampoline Championships on Saturday and walked away victorious.

The event took up the whole day with a number of heats happening throughout the day.

Members of the Springs Stars proudly wore their club’s black and yellow colours as they each took to the trampolines, competing against six other East Rand clubs.

Between the 21 Stars competing, they managed to bag 22 medals. They won 11 gold medals, four silver and three bronze. They also narrowly missed out on three bronze medals, as they got three fourth places.

Sunique Tschoder who competed in the 11-12 year old category of the day, gave a perfect performance for the judges and took home two gold medals, one for the mini trampoline heat and one for the black trampoline heat.

The other gymnasts who competed on the day and won medals are Maryna Swanepoel, Megan Fraser, Cara Burger, Sanmarie Mostert, Gomolemo Mohlabane, Dimpho Mazui, Wian van der Sandt, Eugene Schmidt, Dwayne Morgenrood, Alyssa Cronje, Inge Potgieter, Reinhardt Schmidt, Nkosinati Twala, Waldu Pelser, Gontsi Mohlabane, Marnuwico Vosloo, Tiaan Lamprecht, Morne Titus, Zuleika Krige and Rivoni Nkuna.

Head coach of the Springs Stars, Marinda Fourie, says that it was a great day for her team. “I am so proud of those who competed.”
