Seniors enjoy bingo

Young and old got together for eight games of bingo at the SpringsCare Community Centre on Tuesday.

It was a lucky day for most of the seniors who, one after the other, either won a line or full house.

Club member Margaret McCreath (80) says it was nice to see the hall packed full of people.

Gerhard Lewis (62) was lucky to win a full house and proudly announced that he won the full house twice at the last bingo morning held in October.

“It is my lucky day,” he says.

Other line winners were Sue Venter (90) and Ellen Skead (68) with Doreen Holsthauzen (68) and Izel Sunde (74) as full house winners.

Maria Abbott (69) and Jill Levitas (66) called the bingo numbers from the stage and ensured each game ran smoothly.

Starting at 10am, the players were served tea and biscuits, and at noon they enjoyed a scrumptious meal donated by the club and Mike’s Kitchen.

The last bingo event of the year will take place at 10am, on December 1, at the club.

Margaret invites all those who have celebrated their 80th birthday this year, to join them and other octogenarians at 10am, on November 20, at the club for tea and cake.

To book, call the club on 011 811 1700.
