Birth mother sought

Jayne Blakemore from Manchester, England, writes:

My sister Lynda Burton and I are looking for our birth mother, Pamela Smith (née Main), who was born on May 11, 1940 and lived in Springs in the early ’80s.

She married our father, John Thompson, in 1960 in Gloucester in the United Kingdom.

Our birth parents went on to have three children, but our brother Stephen John died as a baby in 1961.

My sister Lynda was born Susan Thompson in 1962 and I was born Margaret Thompson in 1964.

Unfortunately our birth parents could not look after us and gave us up for adoption in 1966.

I reunited with our birth mother’s family in Bradford in August 2016, which was a joyful occasion.

Pamela Smith emigrated around late 1970s or early 1980s to South Africa.

She was known to have settled in Springs and worked as a nursing auxiliary.

She was believed to be in a relationship and living with a man in Springs whose name is unknown to the family, and we would like to find him.

Pamela has other brothers and sisters who would like to know what happened to her.

Her sister, Brenda Smith, lives in Westonaria, Johannesburg, and her other brothers and sisters all live in Bradford, Yorkshire, UK.

If anyone has information on what happened to her, please contact either Brenda Smith on 011 754 1395 or email jayneblakemore50@gmail.com.
