I have been living in my Edelweiss home for 16 years and am outraged by some of the community’s actions lately.
Across from my house in Blesbok Street is a large open field.
I planted the trees there myself and have been diligently mowing the lawn to keep the area neat and tidy since I purchased the house many years ago.
Unfortunately this is not a priority to everyone as I was shocked to witness residents from the neighbourhood dumping refuse in the storm water ditches adjacent to the field.
All this refuse ends up in the field after every bit of rain which prevents me from cutting the grass.
I really don’t mind accepting responsibility for the upkeep of the area, but I urge my neighbours to take pride in our community and to stop illegal dumping.
