Metro does fix potholes

Peter Denton from Selcourt writes:

A pothole at the intersection of Wit Road and Plover Street, Struisbult has been open for at least five years and was never repaired.

This is just one of many holes that were magically closed just before the elections.

The Ekurhuleni Metro’s road department was not aware of this pothole for the past five years, while busy closing potholes in Struisbult it was noticed by our operations officer and it was patched on July 11.

Current existing potholes are on the corner of Allen and Nigel roads, three just outside one of the banks in Selcourt as well as one in Morris Crescent, in Selection Park.

These were found in only a few minutes’ driving.

• Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe says potholes in Nigel and Star roads were noticed by the depot manager and were patched last Monday.

The Springs Depot is not aware of potholes in Allen Road and Morris Crescent, however, officials will visit the site for inspections and it will be patched by Friday (September 23).

Gadebe says that the roads department always does regular maintenance of the town’s roads.
