Pet owners should consider microchips

Statistics have it that one in three pets goes missing during its lifetime.

A concerned resident from Petersfield writes:

Lately, I have seen so many lost animals in Springs and people looking for their lost pets on social media.

I understand that accidents happen or it’s ‘just that one day’ where everything goes wrong, but people really do need to be more careful when it comes to animals.

It can sometimes be difficult with dogs, as they can jump over the fence or find a patch in the wall to crawl through.

Owners cannot always control when things like this happen and, to most, it’s devastating when their beloved pet is somewhere in the streets.

Maybe it cannot be controlled, but you can control what happens after.

Technology has given us the wonderful creation of the microchip.

Better than any collar that can be removed, a microchip can give you your pet’s exact location.

Yes, it may be more expensive than a collar, but if you can’t afford it or even save up to get one then you should reconsider having pets.

Ultimately, having a microchip planted in your pet will be worth every penny when it goes missing one day.
